"Holiday Cheer" Leads to Higher Drunk Driving Arrests and Fatalities
The period between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day has a higher rate of drunk driving arrest than any point during the rest of the year.

In fact, the NHTSA's data shows that the average daily rate of accidents involving drunk drivers rises a whopping 10 percent to an average of nearly 40 percent during the Christmas holiday and more than 41 percent during New Year's.
